Whether it’s after a long day at work or a slow Sunday morning your bedroom should be somewhere you can go to relax and unwind. Keep reading to see how you can create your own personal sanctuary.
Design Tip #1: Use Natural Materials
Natural materials occur within the natural environment. Using them in a bedroom helps us to feel grounded and relaxed. The use of timber, stone, and linen creates texture and a feeling of luxurious comfort.
Design Tip #2: Add Foliage
Adding foliage to your space, whether it be dried or fresh is a great way to add visual interest and texture. The addition of flowers and plants reinforces a connection to nature and promotes a sense of tranquillity.
Design Tip #3: Mirrors & Artwork
Using mirrors and artwork is an easy way to add dimension to a space. A mirror reflects the room, making it feel more open and expansive. While the inclusion of artwork adds colour and creates a focal point.
Design Tip #4: Earthy Colours
Taking inspiration from your natural surroundings and using an earthy colour palette is a sure-fire way to turn your bedroom into a retreat. Rich terracotta tones paired with soft white and warm beige adds warmth to the room, creating a sense of calm. Don’t be afraid to add pattern into the space, such as a striped quilt cover to add depth and create a wow moment.
