View Hill Project

Tucked away in the hilly outskirts of Melbourne is Eltham, renowned for city views, lush greenery and a welcoming, homely vibe.
It's this feeling that flows through the View Hill Project, a character rich home that finds the perfect blend of natural materials and pieces rich in character.

Solid European Oak pieces anchor many of the spaces, their neutral tone and clean lines allowing the home's character to shine.
Accompanying these are textural elements from seating, ceramics and artwork. Organic forms and injections of colour in these pieces serve to bring personality to the space without being overwhelming.
A Rich History
An extension to the home built in the 1990's, inspired by the Architect Alistair Knox.
Cypress timber beams create an enchanting sense of scale, their rich auburn colour complimenting the home's mud brick walls.
This aesthetic embeds the View Hill home into Eltham's rich history. Montsalvat, an artist colony created in the 1930's and mere away minutes from the home heavily featuring mud brick, and acting as one of Knox's key inspirations for his work.
While uniform in colour, the mud brick walls provide effortless character through almost random textures, a beautiful backdrop for the furniture in the space.
